![]() If you're holding a party this season, why not try to make it extra special by following a few of these simple points. There's no right or wrong way to hold a party - but sometimes, it's nice to have a few reminders which will make your party extra special and one for your guests to remember. Music Don't under-estimate the importance of good music. Like a good London DJ you will follow and inspire the mood of the crowd, so why not start with something medium tempo - so when your guests arrive there's a buzzing atmosphere. When your food arrives, you may want to slow the pace a little so conversation can be heard and of course not detract from your dining experience. Then, to round the evening off....and after the drinks have been flowing, the music will get inevitably faster. Fill up on the essentials This is fairly general, but make sure you have an abundance of all the essentials; there will always be an extra 'plus one' popping up here and there. So make sure you have enough chairs, cutlery and glasses. That brings up another matter - guests often put their glass down and pick up fresh ones, so be sure to have a few extra or invest in wine glass gems which shows whose is whose. Jugs of mineral water also go down well, especially with a slice of cucumber - nobody likes to pester their host for essentials. Now to a more crude matter, and important whether you are holding the party in your house, home or office. There can never be enough toilet paper. Nobody has ever moaned about a party not having enough...and it is definitely in your best interests to have an abundant supply. Choose a party area A party has a better atmosphere when there is a buzz, and this is best created with lots of people together. Don't book a venue which is too large for your event - otherwise your guests will gather into a corner and it will feel unbalanced. The same goes for parties at your home - try to keep them to your favourite space, rather than have your guests dispersed throughout the house. Make sure that you have incredible food and drink Everybody enjoys beautiful food, so make sure your food is something for your guests to delight in. Have canapés served if you are holding an evening drinks reception, or, if your guests are expecting something more filling, a formal three course dinner served by a private chef will be sure to impress. Buffets are perfect for larger numbers - but be sure to consider if there will be an international crowd, as they may have cultural and religious food preferences. Our event planner, Dominique ,can discuss these details with you in more detail. For inspiration on party food ideas visit out menu page. Also, be sure to match your food with the appropriate drinks - and be sure to cater for those who don't drink alcohol. Homemade elderflower cordial is sophisticated and light, and when served with sparkling water and served in a nice glass it helps your guests to blend in. And last of all?
