As a London luxury caterer, it is crucial for our chefs and team stay one step ahead, to constantly train, learn and explore.
This is why we took the opportunity to explore the prestigious fierra SIGEP 2016 exhibition in Rimini, Italy. All the top chefs gather to learn more about the latest techniques, materials, products and equipment. This yearly fair is a great place to meet like-minded chefs and to explore the latest developments.
Our whole London based team of chefs flew over for the weekend in order to attend this fantastic event. Italy is the culinary heart of Europe, and some even say the world. In fact, chefs from all over the world competed to show their latest patisserie skills and even ice sculpturing.
They recognised many collegues from the industry and had a great tie trying out the various techniques. It is not every day that there's unlimited cakes and ice-cream to sample so we are sure they had a great time making the most of 'work and play'!
The wow factor of the event had to be the Venetian festival inspired cake. Made in the form of traditional Venetian theatre masks and using coloured vegetables, this cake truly showed the skills of the master chefs at hand.
